Aleta Kids - Duck Teether
Aleta's goal is to sooth your baby during the teething months. To comfort and relieve their tender gums; encouraging munching and mouthing to lay the foundation for learning speech sounds and babbling. With that in mind, they created their duck teether.
While seeking a healthier approach to raising children, and since they can’t help placing things in their mouths especially when they are teething, Aleta chooses to use organic products as a teething alternative.
Easy grip and hold for little hands. You can always keep their very special toothy traces as a treasure!
We use well sanded European beechwood coated with beeswax to ensure a smooth finish and make our teethers safe for children.
Please note wood have different hues so sometimes the color of the toy may differ slightly from the one on the image. The duck measurements are:

Each duck teether is conveniently packed in a cotton bag to keep it clean and ready to use.
Recommended for babies. Includes one teether and cotton bag.
We want our children to play with toys made of natural materials which nourish a child’s senses and connect them to nature. We choose wood because is sturdy, safe (non-toxic), environmentally friendly (biodegradable and renewable), durable (wood toys can be easily passed along from generation to generation) and beautiful.
why beech wood
Beech is an important and widely-used hardwood in Europe. Its hardness, wear-resistance, strength, and excellent bending capabilities make this hardwood perfect for our toys. We love its pale cream color, sometimes with a pink or brown hue. Its grain is straight, with a fine to medium uniform texture and it has no characteristic odor. This wood is also used in flooring, boatbuilding, furniture, musical instruments and turned objects.
where does our wood come from
Toys made with sustainable wood grown on managed plantations are the best choice. Our wood comes from responsible German forests and has the FSC and PEFC certifications.
We take our time to get a very smooth sanded finish to ensure our toys are safe for children. We do not use burnishes because we love the patina the toy acquires over time. Just on our teethers, which need more protection, we use beeswax as a sealant to keep them in a good shape and condition.
In order to preserve wood from humidity, we choose certified beeswax (the natural substance which bees create and use to build the comb structures inside their hives) because is non-allergenic and non-toxic. It provides protection and a soft, warm finish that produce a matte sheen on the wood.
how to keep our toys clean
Wood has natural antibacterial properties, but once in a while it is necessary to clean wood toys. We recommend you use a gentle cleanser on wooden toys: a simple vinegar and water solution or a mild dish soap and some warm water. Gently wipe down with a washcloth, then allow the toys to air dry. If there is a really tough stain, use a very fine grit sandpaper to buff it out and follow the wood grain to avoid cross-grain scratches. Coat the toy with beeswax to better preserve and protect it from heat and moisture.
